West End Women’s Heritage Walk

“I LOVED the whole thing, especially the warm, informal, inviting and entertaining approach the guides took to delivering any information.”

“I enjoyed this walk immensely, the company of the women, laughing and sharing funny and sad stories about our history. The tour guides were great, they worked well together and the information was good about the parts women played in politics and social movement to benefit their fellow women and men often to their own detriment. Today was great – thanks very much.”

This pioneering women’s heritage walk reveals a hidden history of the West End of Glasgow: pipe-smoking forewomen, revolting schoolmistresses, and the unique car made by and for women. A unique and inspiring insight into the hitherto unsung women who made the West End.

“On Sunday, I joined the GWL West End walking tour and am now a signed up fan! What an inspiring and enlightening evening. Really fascinating. The guides were wonderful and made it so interesting and entertaining. Have been telling all my friends to go since.”
